1. Acceptance
By installing the DragonBreak Online launcher, logging in, or playing on our servers, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
"We," "us," and "DragonBreak Online" mean the DragonBreak Online operators. "The service" means the DragonBreak Online game servers, launcher, website, and Discord server.
2. Eligibility
To play DragonBreak Online, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Own a legitimate copy of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. We do not provide the game or its files.
- Have and use a Discord account in accordance with Discord's terms.
You may not use the service if you have been banned from DragonBreak Online.
3. What DragonBreak Online Is
DragonBreak Online is a free, unofficial, fan-made multiplayer roleplay server for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, built using SkyMP, an open-source multiplayer project.
DragonBreak Online is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Bethesda Softworks, ZeniMax Media, Microsoft, or the SkyMP project.
Playing DragonBreak Online is free. Optional supporter perks, where offered, are described where they are offered, and may change as the project develops.
4. Accounts and Characters
- Your DragonBreak Online account is tied to your Discord account. Keep your Discord account secure; you are responsible for activity conducted through it.
- One Discord account per person. Each person may link only one Discord account to DragonBreak Online, and must use only that account in our Discord and in the game. Except to open a support ticket as described below, or for testing that the Owners have approved, you may not create or use another Discord account to play or to join our Discord, for any reason, including to get extra characters, votes, referral rewards or supporter perks. Additional characters are available only through the character slots on your one account.
- People who share a computer or an internet connection, such as members of one household, may each play with their own Discord account.
- If you lose access to your Discord account or need to move to a new one, you may join our Discord with the new account to open a support ticket. Do this before you play with the new account. We do not move accounts while a ban or suspension is in effect.
- If we find that one person uses more than one Discord account, we may remove access for the additional accounts. Removing an additional account is not a ban of you or of the account you keep. We may also take further action under section 10.
- You may not sell, trade, share, rent, or lend your account or characters.
- A ban applies to you and to all accounts you use. Creating or using another account to evade a ban or restriction is prohibited and may result in further enforcement.
- Character names must follow the naming requirements in the current Server Rules. We may rename or remove characters that violate those requirements.
5. The Launcher
The DragonBreak Online launcher installs and maintains the files required to connect to our servers. It may modify Skyrim configuration and mod files when necessary for the service to operate.
The launcher may perform version checks, repairs, and diagnostic reporting as described in our Privacy Policy.
Before using the launcher, back up any files in your Skyrim installation that you want to preserve.
6. Conduct and Roleplay
You must follow the current DragonBreak Online Server Rules and roleplay standards. Their official text is published, with its version date, on our website and in the rules channel of our Discord. If two copies differ, the one with the latest version date applies. Those rules form part of these Terms.
At a minimum:
- Treat players and staff with respect in-game, in voice chat, and on Discord.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, stalking, doxxing, and similar abuse are prohibited.
- Follow the server's roleplay standards and lore.
- In-character conflict and villainous behavior are permitted when allowed by the Server Rules. Using roleplay as a means of conducting real-world harassment is not.
- Disagreements with staff decisions should be handled through the appropriate ticket or appeal process.
7. Cheating and Exploits
You may not use cheats, trainers, memory editors, unauthorized software, macros, auto-clickers or scripts that play for you, the game console, or modifications that provide an unfair gameplay advantage.
You may not:
- Tamper with or attack the launcher, servers, or network traffic.
- Intentionally overload or disrupt the service.
- Duplicate items, currency, or other resources through exploits.
- Knowingly use bugs or exploits for personal or other players' advantage.
If you discover a bug or exploit, report it privately through /bug, a support ticket, or the launcher and stop using it.
Knowingly exploiting a bug is treated as cheating.
8. Alpha and Game Progress
DragonBreak Online is an alpha project. The world is intended to be persistent, but the service remains under active development and testing.
You should expect:
- Crashes, bugs, downtime, and connection problems.
- Lost progress or rollbacks.
- Changes to skills, crafting, balance, maps, systems, lore, and rules.
- Corrections to characters, items, currency, property, or other game progress.
At the start of the October 1, 2026 alpha, character progress, items, property, faith, and supernatural status will be reset once. Characters themselves will carry over.
We may roll back, modify, remove, or restore game data when necessary to fix bugs, reverse exploits, correct errors, or maintain the integrity of the game and its economy. No compensation is owed for these changes.
9. Virtual Items and Real-Money Trading
Characters, items, gold, property, titles, and other in-game elements are part of the service. You receive permission to use them while participating in the service; you do not own them, and they have no real-world monetary value.
Player-to-player trading conducted entirely within the game is permitted when allowed by the Server Rules.
Real-money trading is prohibited. You may not buy, sell, exchange, or advertise the exchange of DragonBreak accounts, characters, items, gold, property, services, or other in-game assets for:
- Money
- Cryptocurrency
- Gift cards
- Items or currency from other games
- Other real-world goods or services
Accounts involved in real-money trading may be banned and related in-game assets may be removed.
10. Moderation and Appeals
Staff enforce these Terms and the Server Rules.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- Issue a warning.
- Remove items, currency, property, or progress obtained through rule violations.
- Apply an in-game consequence.
- Suspend or permanently remove access to the game, Discord, or both.
Serious violations, including cheating, exploiting, harassment, threats, or real-money trading, may result in immediate action without a warning.
To appeal a moderation decision, open an appeal ticket through the DragonBreak Online Discord and explain why you believe the decision was incorrect. Where possible, an appeal will be reviewed by a different staff member.
11. What You Send Us
When you submit bug reports, support tickets, screenshots, clips, suggestions, or other content to DragonBreak Online, you give us permission to use, copy, modify, and share that material as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, document, and improve the service.
You retain any rights you have in material you submit.
Do not submit material you do not have permission to share or material containing another person's private information.
Suggestions and ideas may be used without payment or credit.
Text you write in the game, such as a character backstory, journal entry or faction report, must follow the Server Rules. We may remove it if it doesn't.
12. Privacy
We collect and process information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and moderate DragonBreak Online. This may include account information, connection information, gameplay information, and diagnostic reports.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how long we retain it, who may access it, and how you can request access or deletion.
13. Third-Party Services
DragonBreak Online relies on third-party services, which operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
These may include:
- Discord — account login, community, support, and communication.
- Steam — ownership and installation of your copy of Skyrim.
- Nexus Mods — distribution of mods used by the service.
- GitHub — distribution of launcher and related project files.
We are not responsible for the availability, operation, policies, or outages of third-party services.
14. Unofficial Fan Project and Intellectual Property
The Elder Scrolls, Skyrim, and related names, characters, assets, and other intellectual property belong to their respective rights holders, including ZeniMax Media and Bethesda Softworks.
Mods included with or used by DragonBreak Online belong to their respective authors and are used according to their applicable licenses or permissions. SkyMP is used according to its applicable open-source license.
DragonBreak Online's original work, including its server code, gameplay systems, launcher, original plugins, lore, website, and other original content, belongs to the DragonBreak Online operators or their respective contributors, subject to any applicable licenses.
You may stream, record, and publish gameplay from DragonBreak Online.
You may not copy, sell, or redistribute DragonBreak Online's original work or operate a copy of the DragonBreak Online service except where an applicable license or written permission allows it.
15. Changes and Termination
DragonBreak Online is an actively developed project. We may change, pause, or discontinue features, systems, servers, rules, or other parts of the service as the project develops.
The service may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or unexpected outages. No specific uptime is guaranteed.
We may update these Terms by publishing a new version with an updated effective date. Significant changes may also be announced through Discord.
You may stop using the service at any time and may request deletion of your account through a support ticket.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or the Server Rules, or when necessary to protect players, staff, or the service.
